| - I expected to be impressed. I wasn't.
In theory, it should all be alright: they roast on site, they bake everything there, they claim to be the gold-standard in Toronto coffee (Espresso Institute of the Universe and all), and the interior is pretty nice looking, as is the patio.
The guy who took our order was cordial at best. It seemed like he decided we knew nothing about coffee, and that he just had to tolerate us until we left. The barista who brought the drinks over was slightly better, though his friendliness seemed forced at best. The coffee was decent, but nothing to really write home about. The food was perplexing. How can so little unremarkable food cost so much? Given that I was planning on going to the Hoof Cafe (alas, it was a Tuesday) I was pretty disappointed with their offerings.
Additionally, the washrooms are terrible. Is it really that hard to screw a soap dispenser into the wall, and maybe even keep the room marginally clean? Pretty sure rooms that small aren't hard to clean.
