  • Probably the largest DMV I have ever been to. I'm not sure what the other ones in Las Vegas and Henderson are like, but compared to the locations in the Bay Area of Northern California, this location is definitely truly of size. The large parking lot is the first sign of a large location. Once inside, I noticed the area looked to be broken up into two areas, but that's just because of building design. Information and check in is to the left, waiting areas are everywhere, and 41 windows that kept a constant calling of customers. I made the disastrous mistake of waiting until the last minute to register my car so of course I came in without an appointment. Yeah, don't do that. My wait time was exactly 4 hours (checked in at 10:53am, number was called at 2:53pm). Technology is of modern art in Las Vegas, as there is a text system that keeps you updated. It will tell you how many people are in front of you, and later down the road it changes to tell you estimated time in minutes. Originally I was 94th in line (not including appointment check ins, so the number varied. For example I was 78th at one point, then when I checked 10 minutes later I was 80th). Once someone checks in for their appointment, you get bumped down, which is fair, mind you. Due to this status check, it is suggested NOT to wait at the location. Drive to local shops, get a bite to eat, enjoy some of your day that, about 5 years ago, would have meant sitting for all 4 hours at the DMV! Take advantage of this system check status! Once my number was called, I had nothing but good things to report. Reported to Window 39 where I was assisted by Andrea. Pleasant attitude, very sweet demeanor, and a representation of what you do NOT hear as the DMV stereotype. She understood my situation and was able to answer all of my questions that helped me ease my mind. She even excused herself to ask a supervisor to make sure she was giving me the correct information, which stuck out to me because she was correct with her initial response, but talking that extra step to ease her mind as well was well appreciated. Unfortunately my voice was extremely horse as I am getting used to Las Vegas pollen and allergies, but she was patient and made sure to listen to me very carefully so I did not have to strain my voice further. At the end of the initial assistance, I asked for further guidance to make sure I would be ok with my timeframe of car registration, and she took the extra time to send out a car registration check to California for me, set me up with a 10 day vehicle movement permit, got me the appropriate papers to get Nevada license plates, and set up my next reservation appointment to come back to officially register my vehicle. Not once did she groan or show dismay at my requests, which is not what I was expecting from a DMV representative. Overall I was incredibly impressed with this DMV and Andrea's Service. I feel like she is an incredibly positive asset to DMV and a prime example of what stellar customer service should be. There was honestly not one thing I saw at this location that could have been better in my experience. Side note: yes the property was clean, no trash, even outside, smokers disposed of cigarette butts in the appropriate area, parking lot was very clean, waiting area had no trash, snack bar was open, all speakers calling out numbers and windows were working. Like I said, not one thing I saw that could have been better on the DMV's side.
