  • Had some time to kill before my appointment so thought I would give this place a try because it had a few vegan options. It turned out to be a strange experience. I am a novice when it comes to liquid nitrogen infused ice cream. Yes I have sat in a cryogenic tank and freezes my ass of for 3 minutes but I've never experienced how ice cream tastes after it has been exposed to the same. So it seemed pretty straight forward. You pick out your base which for me was the dairy free coconut option. But then you add in your flavor in which case there seemed to be hundreds of options. I basically narrowed it down to cookies and cream which I was told was a vegan option. The prices are really high for a medium size like over $10. Fine since I saw all this high tech mixers lined up so I assumed this ice cream was going to blow me away. After they take your money and tip things get really slow. They will eat until they get a bunch of ordered and then the proceed to process them all. It took a good 15 minutes until I saw mine getting made. I will admit it's fun to watch them throw all the ingredients into a bowl then attach it to the mixer where co2 comes pouring out as they make your I cream. After it turns hard the put the bowl into a warm bath water to loosen it up a bit to put in your cup or cone. Finally get the end result. When I first scooped out the ice cream it was strange. I mean it was soft but hard as a rock at the same time. The nitro infused ice cream just doesn't melt. Literally I wanted for 20 minutes to see if I had any melted in my cup and there was none. So how did it taste. Like cookies and cream. It started out great and super creamy but by the end of of cup it just tasted Iike creamy sweet. The texture was to be a bit strange almost like you were warming a genetically modified ice cream however that would taste:) A bit of a novelty.. it was "cool" to try but not sure it's something I would regularly seek out. Btw if you live in the Bay Area I saw they have one in DT Palo Alto if you want to give it a try.
