| - Went for a late lunch/early dinner with a friend. Arrived about 2:15, and we were seated promptly. I'm not sure how they decide where people sit, but unless it's a busy dinner it seems like you have to snake your way through the many rooms and are seated in the most awkward, remote part of the restaurant.
I ordered the prime rib and my friend ordered the top sirloin. The service in general was a bit slow, which I assume was due to the skeleton crew they had on between lunch and dinner. About 15 minutes later, the server comes back and informs me the prime rib won't be ready to serve until 3:30 (it's now about 20 'til 3) This wasn't a huge deal, but really - this is something you need to tell people about, or at least put a note on the menu, before they go ordering it. I ended up getting a ribeye, which was decent, but disappointing compared to what I really wanted.
Overall, nothing remarkable about this place. I've been several times over the years and it seems like they are cutting corners, grasping at straws when it comes to new menu items, or something to keep the place alive. The meal was okay, but definitely not the Monti's I remember.
