  • I live about a mile from this new arena and I watched it being built. It's the practice facility for the Las Vegas Golden Knights NHL team and the home for the UNLV club hockey program. There are two rinks and one is open almost daily for the public for paid skating. They also have skate rental. I had never been to a college hockey game and seeing the turnout last night for UNLV was very heartening. The interior is modern, of course, and there's a snack bar on the first floor and a restaurant on the second floor with glass windows to watch skating below. Parking for the arena is very handy with plenty available. It's with a great sense of pride that I watched the arena open and being a part of the newness is wonderful. I'll see more hockey and maybe skate again now that the arena is here.
