The Animal Foundation was a terrible experience for us. We visited several times to find a cat or dog to adopt on one of their overcrowded weekends. Each time we were treated quite rudely by people in the cat area. There is no excuse for the rudeness. It makes you think the people who work there hate their jobs. Several kittens and cats were in cages marked as sick and just under vet care and they were to right next to well cat cages. I should have gotten a hard clue from that. We finally choose and adopted a supposed well kitten. When we got it home, it was sick the next day. We called, they said take it to the vet program. We took it to the vet under their program that is suppose to cover the first days at no cost. It did not cover the test or medication which was $100. Then our other older cat got sick with the same thing, and both had to be treated again, another $200. Obviously we take care of our pets. We paid and cured them, but we not risk buying sick pets from them again. And we won't be treated rudely again. Also we took our older cat there for updates vaccinations. They would not let us stay with her for the shots. No other vet has ever excluded us and our regular vet said that is an unusual practice. The man who took her for the shots was rough taking her from us. Never Again! We use the vet and groomer at the Nellis Petsmart - they have been terrific, and also the VCA Nellis Animal Hospital. They have been terrific.
