SO, i've been to many night clubs in Vegas and all have their similarities but I have never had a good experience at The Jewel.
The Jewel is located in the Aria hotel and casino and is a popular venue for many big name DJs. I've seen Steve Aoki here in the past and most recently Porter Robinson.
Porter Robinson is my favorite DJ of all times so let me lead with that so you can understand my excitement level. That being said the venue itself really made me have a terrible experience. I know how popular Porter is, but I really feel like the venue oversold the amount of tickets to see him.
The line to the bar was so intense that it would take upwards of 30-40 minutes to get a drink, and if you left the dance floor to get a drink it would literally take an hour to get back to where you were so it made me really hesitant to even drink. Honestly It was so crowded that you could not even have fun.
The dance floor is TINY, and was so packed that there was literally elbow to elbow so packed that you could not even move. Not to mention the fact that the security guards are extremely rude and hostile. The barrier that separates the dance floor from the tables is literally a rope that the security are constantly parading and pushing everyone forward to make a walk way. When this happens they are not polite about it and are very aggressively shoving people making everyone fall forward.
If you wanted to avoid this and buy table service the minimum was $5000. This is crazy. I have bought table service here before and it was only $1000. That shows you how much they jack the prices up when a big name DJ is playing. That being said Porter still put on an AMAZING show, and its not his fault the venue is so shitty. I really wish the experience had been better though.
