| - Please for the love of all things holy, run away from this place as fast as you can. I've rented cars on three different continents, and never faced the issues or the terrible customer service that I faced with Fox.
For starters, if you are arriving from the airport make sure to budget for extra time as this location is not at the airport. You have to take 2 different shuttles to arrive here. This wasn't too big of a problem for myself as I was traveling alone, but the gentleman in line behind me had left his entire family waiting at the airport and it took him over 3 hours to return to them.
Second, this place is understaffed, and the staff who are there are incredibly rude. There was a line of over 20 guests when I arrived and only 2 representatives working behind the counter. One representative got up to take his lunch break while this lengthy line was waiting. There was no sense of urgency, nor any apology issued by the representatives for the ridiculous wait. I waited over 2 hours.
(I will say the employee who did the vehicle inspection at the exit was incredibly kind, and it would be wonderful if everyone was as kind as he.)
Third, while the car I rented was fine, the person who attempted to clean the car needs some improvement. The windows were obviously 'cleaned' with some sort of chemical, that left gigantic streaks that made it impossible to see out of the windows. The car was about 3 years old and had 26 thousand miles.
Finally, and perhaps the most frustrating at all, I spend an additional 2 hours trying to extend my reservation. There are 3 phone numbers listed on the rental car receipt, and 2 of them lead to voicemail boxes that were full. I was on hold for 60 minutes with the third number, and instead of having my call answered I was hung up on after 60 minutes. After this I decided to try the internet route and opted to participate in the 24/7 chat. The customer service representatives there sent an initial 'Hello Fox customer, how can I help you' question, yet failed to respond to me after that. After 15 minutes I gave up and decided I would rather pay more money and deal with the hassle of renting through a different company for one day instead of extending my reservation.
I know this place is cheap, but please do yourself a favor and pay $5 to keep your blood pressure low and your vacation relaxed.
PS - I'm a local and have plenty of friend visit Vegas and rent cars. Guess which company I will be telling them to avoid at all costs?
