I'm a salon jumper, must admit. I have a hard time finding a stylist that can give my curly mane a great cut. I enter wide-eyed, ready for a hair-phany and leave desperately hoping that once I wash my hair and style it myself I won't hate that I just blew $40+. Alas, I often lose this battle. I'm a tough critic in the salon world.
Anyway....after reading a review from a follow curly girl about her experience with a new stylist, Samantha, I called and made an appointment for the upcoming weekend. Nerves commence.
The staff was super accommodating when I called at 5p on a Wednesday to change my appointment at the last minute. No judgement and a same-day slot? Win!
Samantha was kind and listened to my hair woes. I showed her a few pictures of what I had in mind, we hashed out a few concerns and off we went. The key thing here is that Sam listened to me. I really felt like she understood the ramifications of layering curly hair and proceeded with the right level of caution.
I ended up with a great new 'do and I will definitely be coming back for a repeat haircut. My layers look FABULOUS! I've got the perfect level of undercut and some "just-long-enough" bangs.
Price is on point. 40 odd bucks plus tip is not an upset when I'm leaving with a smile.
