  • Found them tucked away while searching for a quick bite for me and two kiddos under 4. Short and sweet...this is the purest and freshest soul I've had in a while and we just moved from the south. Firstly, we were greeted by a really nice staff who had recommendations ready. I went with the fried cat fish and chose mac n cheese, collard greens, black eyed peas, and an extra side of fried okra. The meal also came with corn bread muffins and they even gave me a couple extra for the kids and my hubby who had the leftovers. The muffins were moist and light in sweetness and density, delicious and balanced. The fried fish and okra had a great batter and were cooked perfectly and didn't have an oily taste. The collards and beans were so fresh, not fatty, and tasted great; my kids loved them. My kids didn't go for the mac n cheese, but only because their taste buds are ruined by the boxed stuff. I will be back again. There aren't many choices along Craig for those nights I don't feel like cooking and you can go easy on the wallet and waist line if you split the meal and get an extra side ir two or you can go grilled and stick to veggie options. The desserts looked great...maybe next time.
