  • The only all Japanese grocery store in Mecklenburg Co, Hatoya has vastly improved over the last 3 years since management changed. Super friendly staff. Ever-expanding array of products. Clean, with no funky fishy smell! Frequent shopper points program (not fantastic, but better than nothing if you're a regular). They also carry cool candies and snacks that appeal to the broader public. The only negative comment I could make is that items on sale are often past their expiration date, so check before buying.
