There was a time when UMC represented a decent standard in the community. Unfortunately like so many other business today that is no longer the case. Please beware that if you like myself can not afford health insurance (or the deductibles) and are a cash paying client THEY WILL TAKE YOU FOR A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY!
A year and a half ago I went in for a Urinary Infection. I was required to put down an $80 DEPOSIT and was never told what the balance was to be. After the basic test I was given a prescription for an antibiotic. It turned out to be a total of $130.00.
On 11/19/14 I had the same problem and new that I needed an antibiotic. I paid the same $80 DEPOSIT. After seeing a nurse for 3 minutes and a Dr. Tran for 2 minutes. I again got the same antibiotic as before and a shot. As before I WAS GIVEN NO ESTIMATE OF THE COST. The only difference was THE BILL WAS FOR MORE THAN $477. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP COME TO ANY UMC FACILITY BECAUSE YOU WILL BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
