| - I went back & forth between 4 stars or just 3.
Here's the good: The property is beautiful! Congratulations to the designers, the newly renovated rooms, gym and club lounge are gorgeous! The gym in particular is second to none, it's surprisingly large (perhaps even too big, relative to the size of the property) and is equipped with a wide variety of brand new equipment including free weights, benches, squat racks, a group exercise room with virtual training programs, dry sauna and all the cardio equipment you could need.
The club lounge is beautiful and stocked with beer, wine and snacks.
The location is walking distance to the Quiken Loans Arena, Progressive Field and East 4th street.
Now the bad: No pool!, rooms are small, air conditioning either wasn't working or had been deactivated (it was mid oct, but it was also nearly 85 outside). The service was mostly good and mostly friendly. It wasn't as though anyone did anything wrong in particular, but we did notice lots of small things: room wasn't cleaned to our expectations, tissue box was left empty (for a family of 4, who all had runny noses), items in the club lounge would run out and not be restocked (not just for a couple hours, more like 36 hours), asked for directions and told the wrong way to go, asked about a particular restaurant and instead of offering to help make a reservation, told to call ourselves and 'good luck'. Kind of accumulation of small stuff like that, not really what we've come to expect in terms of service at the Ritz brand of hotels.
