Dr. Williams and her staff are great! My dog is so fearful of going to the vet and has had to wear a muzzle at two other veterinary clinics because he gives the impression that he wants to bite when they start examining him. The muzzle and fear caused him to drool excessively and he would have an accident. The veterinarians didn't make us feel bad for his fearful behavior but being unable to examine him since he was scrambling to escape it was a pretty worthless visit. My sister recommended Mahomet Animal Hospital because their goal is for your pet to have a good experience at the vet visit. They schedule plenty of time for the appt so they don't have to rush and try to make your pet at ease with treats and talking to them before they start to examine him. Dr. Williams doesn't want to use a muzzle and upset him more so I held Buddy while she quickly examined him. After asking questions about the reason for our visit and his symptoms she prescribed antibiotics. Dr. Williams wanted to wait to give him a vaccination that he is due for so he wouldn't hate his first visit and be fearful about returning. We are encouraged to call and bring him in for free to get used to the place and then return for the vaccination after giving him a mild sedative. So if you have the time I would recommend this clinic to establish a positive experience for your pet so they are comfortable with the vet to examine them which will result in better care for all future visits. And another plus is I thought their prices were very reasonable. Buddy liked the drive from Champaign, tolerated his first visit and was able to enjoy his walk at Lake of the Woods since he wasn't as stressed as he was after an appt at different clinics.
