  • Now, this review is in regards to my visit on 06/11/2017. I've been too busy to write out what I wanted to say but I figure now is as good a time as any. This was my second time at this location and I was severely disappointed. First off, I waited at the entrance for a couple of minutes in full view of staff walking by before my presence was even acknowledged. It wasn't busy or anything so I was a little confused. As soon as I called out to someone, I was met with an extremely apologetic greeting which made me feel a lot better. At least I knew it was only a matter of someone not seeing my party and myself walk in. No big deal. The food looked amazing and it smelled great. My family sat down and made our drink orders. For anyone who has never been here, it's a little pricey so don't expect to be paying any less than $6 for a cute little bottle of beer. But it's a gorgeous restaurant and the service is usually impeccable. I perused the salad bar and gathered what I needed to make my own smoked salmon bruschetta. The smoked salmon didn't really taste like anything. It usually has a delicate flavor that's very noticeable. This salmon tasted as though it was soaked in water for a while. Some areas of the fish were darker than others so I didn't wind up eating it. In addition to the salmon, I opted for the chicken salad which actually tasted delicious. But I couldn't finish eating it because I bit down on a chicken bone. I was so sad! After that, I didn't trust the salad so I just pushed it aside. I didn't know what could be done about it but I did let the server know and he immediately informed who I imagine was their supervisor. Someone came to my table to make sure the bone didn't cause any oral injuries which I thought was very nice. It's not the worst thing I've found in my food so it wasn't a big deal. Besides, I was really there for the meat. Now, on to the meat. Every single piece of meat that came out was incredibly bland. This was a stark contrast to my first visit which was phenomenal. With every piece of meat I tried, I hoped the next one would be a little more flavorful. It wasn't and that was so disappointing. I had raved about this place to my family and it left so much to be desired. We stayed for maybe thirty minutes - just long enough to try everything. None of the meat had any real flavor so we got up, paid our bill, and made a trip to Rodizio's in Mesa because darnit, we were determined to have unlimited meats! Fortunately, the meal was redeemed in Mesa. They don't have the variety that Fogo has but what they do have is amazing and so delicious - and it's almost half the cost of Fogo. In fact, Rodizio's left such an impression that I'm reluctant to try Fogo de Chao again. Reluctant but not unwilling. My first time there was pretty amazing and that smoked salmon was spectacular. I'll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times to make sure.
