  • Shocking the way a police officer treated me and my husband and we headed back from swim practice with our three and four year old sons. There was an accident on 96th and Shea and several cars including ours were confused on whether we should go or stop at intersection since the officer at the scene was waiving his hands, hitting cars, and screaming at people. He asked me and my husband" if we were confused by the cones." We answered "sorry we really don't know what we are supposed to do here," to which he yelled at us "Well you should!" Then he went back to screaming at other cars and hitting the backs of them before again screaming at us to "GO!!!! " When I called into the police department to share my concern they told me he was directing traffic, to which I replied "I've never seen an officer directing traffic that has turned this hostile." I'm all for honoring our men and women who serve our great country and respect what they do but this officer acted terribly and really made me disappointed in the department, which attempted to stand up for his actions.
