  • The Children's Museum is absolutely wonderful! It feels like an endless jungle to explore for kids, and even as an adult, I marvel at the surprises around each turn. A group of friends helped babysit for our other school friends on First Friday, and the kids loved it here. They spent a good 20-30 minutes just being entertained by the vacuum tubes by the entrance! We finally got them to explore the rest of the museum too, but of course, it's always one adventure after another, and they were quickly distracted by the jungle gym that spans two or three floors with exits to other stations at those levels. It is definitely a creatively designed jungle gym, with lots of ways to climb, slide, step, hop, you name it. The last area on the first floor is for blocks, and we sat around to watch the magician for a while too. Up on the second floor, we found more focused activities. I like that there are arts and crafts stations for kids here, and the boys got to make and take up some caterpillars they decorated. Their favourite spot though was the station with balls and ramps. I swear they could watch those things for forever! We ended the night running through the foam forest (third floor). It was a lot denser than I thought, and for a while, I really worried that I would lose them in there! By the end of the night, they were pretty tired out from all the stimulation. It's so great that the museum designs ways for kids to be stimulated by all there senses. It was perfect because on the way out, they each go to take home an age-appropriate book to read for bedtime.
