| - There are a fair amount of one star reviews on this page, and I wish I had read these before buying their Groupon, specifically about how difficult and unaccommodating the owner, Kyle, can be. Regardless of what Kyle might respond to this review, I encourage readers to note that usually it is not a coincidence when multiple customers have the same recurring difficulty with the same person...
I will start by quickly saying Elvis and Ryan worked hard and to the best of their abilities and did a good job moving and being gentle and careful!! Elvis was a nice dude and you could tell he was clearly trying his best to offer fair customer service... He went with company protocol and called Kyle to ask what to do in a difficult situation..however, Kyle was just petty and difficult.
I don't know if Kyle realizes this, but some customers do not see the movers as individual entities--rather, they tip based on their experience with the company as a whole. Luckily, I am not that way and I still tipped, but Kyle's stingy behavior could potentially risk his mover's tips. Thats not fair to them over something as stupid, as in this case, 15 dollars.
I have moved a fair amount of times, and usually wardrobe boxes are kept on the truck as complimentary, since it makes sense that the very final thing people pack are their last little bit of clothes because they need something to wear. The movers told me that their manager would bring a "COMPLIMENTARY" wardrobe box (he specifically used the word "complimentary" and no further explanation was offered). I was thrilled and had given them mental points for customer service, however, I ended up disappointed. In the last 10 minutes of the move, as the guys were bringing the final item inside, the head-mover mentioned in passing that he would need to take the box back (or charge me for the box) so i would need to unpack it right then and there. I wanted to unpack it correctly and had a lot of stuffed items in it, so I asked-- based on the fact they never disclosed that they needed the box back-- if they wouldn't bill me for the 15 ish minutes it took to unpack the wardrobe box (the guys would just be sitting there, not actively working while i unpacked it). I talked to Kyle on the phone and he absolutely insisted I pay for the box if I kept it and refused to flex on time.... Even though it was a communication error on his company's behalf, he was a stickler and very rude.
