4 years ago, we bought a set of bfg all terrains from Costco on our 2000 Ford F-350. A couple of of years ago, when we went to have our oil changed at another tire place they told us that who ever sold us these tires, sold us the wrong ones for our truck. The truck requires a load range E and the tires that are on the truck are load range D. Which is below manufacturer requirements. Which causes it to be very dangerous to tow. I went back to Costco and told the manager of the tire center that these are the wrong tires. He assured me that they would be fine. So I told him to just check the tire pressures and I'll be off. Here's the kicker... Most people check the placard on the door jamb for proper inflation and the placard says 80psi when towing (we have a large trailer that we tow). If it was a load range E it could handle 80psi no problem but since COSTCO put load range D tires on our trick max pressure is 65. So they put 80'psi on my rear tires and a year later without even touching the tire pressure our tire blows up just sitting there with our truck attached to the trailer. Our truck sees less than 1,000-2,000 miles a year. We only use it for towing. Since the tires were installed 4 years ago, the truck has only gone 15,000 miles. Thanks Costco, spent over $1,200 on tires to put my life on the line and me or my husband could've died from this. Next time sell the right tires for the right vehicle!
