| - I finally decided to cut the cord with Centurylink after 3 years of being massively over-billed for my SLOW internet service (less than 6 Mbps actual speed for their advertised 40Mbps speed) and crappy, (freeze up every few minutes) PRISM TV. Every month had to call customer service 40-60 minutes on hold, promised resolutions after being transferred around to 3-4 reps. 2-year 'rate lock' agreement increased each month by about $10 until at the end of the agreement we went from $119/month to $200/month. October 2016 we called to cancel the crappy service and was quoted another year of same service for $123/month. First bill for October was $123, November $134, December $138, January $145! Called again about the inconsistent over-billed months in January, 2017. Again, promised to adjust the bill back to $123 through October 2017. February over-billed at $145. Called again, promised bill would be adjusted, but I had to pay at least $134 to avoid service interruption, that I would see the credit on my March bill. March bill over-billed again $145 and no credit received. I emailed customer service after being on hold 25 minutes and no resolution. I refused to pay the bill until I receive a correct one ($123) with all the over-billed charges reversed. Bills received April, May, June, July all over-billed, no credits received and $16 late fees added to bills. July 8 I called and spoke to 6 different agents for almost 2 hours to cancel the service due to breach of contract, poor service and fraudulent charges. I told them to pick up their equipment and cancel my service. Confirmation number given and no one has responded to this cancellation request. We will not pay another bill to this fraudulent company, and intend to join the Nevada Class Action lawsuit.
Separate class-action suits have been filed against CenturyLink in seven states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington). Consumers say they were not only charged higher than quoted prices, but also billed for phone lines and services never requested. If you're reading this, after you review Centurylink, please call Ben Meiselas, at Geragos & Geragos law firm (Tel: 213-625-3900) to join the class action, and send your complaint to the Nevada Attorney General and Federal Trade Commission, It's more than obvious that Centurylink will need to lose a giant lawsuit before they'll fix any issues for their customers.
