Since I live so close and walk by Frangipane everday, I should get an award for limiting my visits here to twice a month - it's really not so hard since they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays and open @ 10am.
It's a bright small shop full of glass shelves with pretty pastries and chocolates. The price is high, but you're paying for quality.
Came in today cuz their Oh-So-flavourful coffee cakes were beckoning me on my walk home. The lady at the counter was not the usual girl, I think she might be the owner/pastry chef - she was friendly and informative. I inquired more about the cakes - $36 for a whole one or $18 for half or a small bundt size, they can last if properly frozen and order a day or two ahead - good to know since I buy 2 slices everytime I come in.
Their croissants are also fluffy, crunchy, buttery and yummy. Luckily they were selling frozen ones at 50% off. I got a bag to reheat at home for breakfast.
This place is worth a visit if you're in the area... Or just go out of you're way to try it ;D
They get the -1 star cuz of their wierd hours and they sometimes run out of croissants & coffee cakes before I get there.
