| - My lease is about up here and while I wanted to stay, we are being forced out of our apartment. We love, love, love the apartment itself, but for the most part living here has been pretty awful. The first three months that I lived here I called the office almost every day because the people above me were so loud I could not sleep, I could not think, I would break down crying because of the stress and I was told I was just "sensitive." Literally, they told me I was sensitive. Courtesy patrol is a joke for these matters. The people above me moved out, new people came in and viola the noise was gone.
This place is not a good property if you are looking for peace and quiet as the ceilings are very thin and people in their vehicles are constantly blasting bass - constantly! On to why we're being forced out... we asked for a small amount of extra time before we gave our 60 day notice due to a close family member being in hospice, a dog sick with cancer, a car accident, and finances being in between at this time (we wanted to use the Pillar Platinum Purchase program to buy a home). They refused to give us any extra time and we knew within a week we would be able to extend our lease and wait a year to buy a home. They rented our apartment and told us we now have to leave.
They have not helped, they have not cared, the manager REFUSED to speak with us personally even though we asked for her to. She sat in her office and had someone go back and forth so she did not have to even see us. It was a horrid experience being told we no longer had a home and to have no sympathy shown whatsoever.
So, as we are now looking for a new home, three different apartment complexes have told us that would have never happened as we already live here, pay rent, and we take priority. Some even have it in their leases that they can cancel a new tenant if circumstances change for the current tenant. I live with a disabled veteran and it is extremely hard to find a first floor that works for us, especially considering prices have gone up dramatically in the past year. The only reason I gave two stars is because the apartment itself is, for the most part, great. The location is convenient and the maintenance guys are quick to fix anything in my experience. You want to live somewhere with little noise and management that gives a crap about their tenants? Don't live here.
