  • I have two Chihuahuas. I once tried out Shawnee Park & was amazed at how many owners just let their dogs do whatever they wanted. My poor dogs were being harassed constantly by enormous dogs. I'm sure this set my dogs a few years back in socializing therapy. The idiotic owners were just yapping away in the distance. I swear, it looked like they were there more for a hookup than to take their dogs for a walk in the park. They were more concerned with exchanging phone numbers than worrying if their dogs were being aggressive with mine. I learned a lesson that day. Never go to dogs parks again. I tried it once, but that was it. It's over for us. Even if the park has a smaller fenced in area, this means nothing to anyone else. I read somewhere that this can be used for smaller fearful dogs to run around. FALSE. No one cares enough to see this. So you see, even in dogs parks are you at risk. We live in a horrible society.
