| - I have been coming here for years. However, after the experience i had today, I will be taking my business else where. I have battled with high blood pressure for a few years. Last year I wasn't told anything about how my birth control and blood pressure were associated. Today, I went in for my yearly.... started off fine. The MA ( i dont know her name) she took my blood pressure and said it was high, i advised I knew, it usually is and anxiety over going to the doc doesn't help! she took it again, and proceeded to tell me they wouldn't be able to prescribe me birth control due to my HBP. I told her my pressure was high last time, nothing was told to me about not being able to receive a prescription for birth control. She then argued with me on the fact that I wasn't give a script for birth control last year. I told her i would show her with my pharmacy app.... she made a rude comment and said " you go ahead and do that" and walked out of the room. The doctor came in, advised anything 140/90 and over they would not be able to prescribe birth control. The doctor himself was amazing, however his MA- NOT! if she would have told me that rule my reaction would have been different. I left without my yearly, advised the doc his staff needed an attitude adjustment and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. Now that I am doing more research, I see there are numerous options for patients with HBP and birth control, yet NONE of these were discussed or even brought up. Good luck staying in business with that outlook, thats why you have 2 stars on yelp. I should have let that be my original red flag. Your job is to educate me on my health and options, not treat me like mud on your shoe. good luck
