| - The five of us (including one dog) got dinner here tonight and were pretty satisfied. Being very German, I can confidently say that this is very American German food. The flipped Hofbraühaus logo that they use for their Brat Haus emblem is apt, as they have flipped some classics, such as potato salad and brat wurst.
The boar, pepperjack, and haüs brats were good, but not spectacular - a bit dry, really. The dork burger was really good, especially with a fried egg added on top, and the Schnitzel sub was about a 4/5. The butcher's plate was good, but nothing special, same with most of the toppings, with the exception of the rootbeer onions, which were really awesome and would put the right brat over the top, if paired correctly.
Good luck with that, though, as the server we had wasn't really any help with any selection; it seemed as if she had only just read the menu (or was new). Drinks were great - beers of a great variety as well as a soda and the "adult style" nutella shake. The dog loved her brat, but it doesn't take much to please a hound. We got the nutella desert to share, but it didn't live up to any great expectation.
Atmosphere was fine, but we were unhappy that our server had to come back at least three times to tell us something we had ordered was no longer available (including the yelp chili offer, the boot, the veal brat, and the butterscotch rootbeer). Overall a pleasant place, but very expensive, especially since the brats and sandwiches came with nothing else - no fries or anything (except the potato salad, which was a steal at $3.50).
