| - We stayed at this hotel during Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel is a bit of a disappointment; Perhaps because I had such high expectations after seeing all the glamorous photos from marketing emails sent to me from the hotel. Lobby/checkin area was small, unlike the usual high end hotels in Vegas. Lines were long and service was slow. However, I do like that they have 24 hour security by the elevators. The reason for the one star is not because the hotel was not glamorous enough, it's because of their marketing scheme. My reservation included a $100 resort credit. We asked receptionist what the credit was good for. She told us it's good for any purchases made at the hotel including Mandalay Bay. The only things it can't be used for are gratuities, parking and resort fees. So with that information, and I had $18 remaining on the credit, I had to use it up before we check out. Since $18 does not go far in Vegas anymore, I purchased some beverages at a market stand in Mandalay Bay. As you may have guessed it, the purchase was not honored as a charge to the resort credit. Granted $18 is not a significant amount, but I felt deceived. Is this what Mandalay Bay/Delano has to do to make some profit - To steal from their guests?? I called and tried to get my money back but customer service kept telling me that one of their managers will get back to me in 3 - 5 days. I called twice and this is the response I kept getting. I asked to speak to the manager on site and they would tell me manager on site is busy with another customer. I said I'll wait but they kept saying manager is very busy. Well it's now about a couple of weeks and I'm still waiting for a call back. So many family and friends are refusing to stay at the Mandalay Bay and Delano, but I went against the odds and tried to support them. Thanks to their evil schemes, I'm sad to say I have to join the opposing team.
