If you like the nostalgia of long lines, no convenience and a dark, stank theatre-- this is the cinema for you.
Calgary is really lacking those "last-chance-before-it-goes-to-blu-ray" cinemas-- so I was pretty excited to stumble across this one. The admissions are cheap. At $5 per ticket, you may think "how could you go wrong?" Oh buddddyyy, in soooo many ways.
With apps like Atom and Cineplex, I think I'm just use to not having to wait in line for 20 mins for a movie ticket and then another 20+ mins for concessions. That is what you get here. Sure, there are things that make it charming, like the local gelato ($3.50 for a tiny carton) or popcorn starting at $3.75-- but the crowd (tons of tots), the lines (so longgggg) and the outdated theatre makes it a place I rather avoid. Sorry.
