Purchased the 5 year geek squad option when purchasing a Sony smart TV.
-TV stopped working 11 days ago. It is 18 months old and was a very popular item at Best Buy so there would be no reason to believe parts are hard to find.
-Took 4 days for a tech to arrive and diagnose the TV.
-5 minutes to diagnose and order parts...
tech said parts would be 'expedited'.
-7 more days... parts haven't arrived & Geek Squad rescheduled the repair twice....this time for 4 additional days later.
-Geek Squad customer service had a 45 minute hold so I called the G.S at local best Buy store where I purchased the TV. Supervisor said he would research and call me back.
-3 hours later, someone else called and claims they have no ability to influence shipping time (overnight vs priority vs snail mail) because they are already en route via snail mail.
-I made a logical request that a duplicate part be shipped overnight so they can fix my TV sooner. Then they would have an extra set available for the next customer who had this problem. Was told this is impossible.
Next major electronics purchase I will research other sellers and service plans. The Geek Squad is clearly overextended and can't deliver reasonable service for even a simple and common problem.
