I stayed here with a large business group. The shuttle that picked me up at the airport was nice. It was a great first impression.
As I entered to lobby to check in the dread set in. It looked threadbare and outdated.
The check in went smoothly and I began walking to my room--- which was way far-far away from the lobby. I had to drag my suitcases for what felt like forever in Vegas heat.
As I walked through the complex I noticed that the other guest look very scuzzy- I had never seen people that looked like these people did. They looked like worn out prostitutes with tattoos and piercings all over their fat wrinkly overexposed bodies.
The mystery was solved when learned that our group was booked into the resort at the same time as a "Sex workers" convention. Yes, they looked like old whores because they were old whores!
There were hundreds of prostitutes, pimps and pornographers---along with the groups and individuals that serve or sell to the sex industry. The lobby had tables of free condoms and other sexually related materials. Even the signs for the classes posted at the meeting room doors for the classes they attended were disgusting.
These working girls and boys were not shy about how they earned their livings and they were very open to earning more---while at their convention. One of them even gave me her business card!
Our business group freaked out and when we complained the staff acted like it was no big deal. Needless to say none of our groups got into the swimming pool or hot tubs with these walking sacks of Hepatitis.
My hotel room was bad. The table lamp was broken into pieces so I called maintenance to come and confirm that it was broken when I entered. The guy came and saw that it was broken asked me if I broke it and then left. They never replaced the lamp. It sat their broken in pieces all weekend. The room wasn't terrible--just worn out and out of date. The AC never did get the room cool so sleeping was a sweaty event.
The restaurant was disappointing
as well.
Many of our group refused to stay at the Alexis Park Resort and went across the street to the Hard Rock Casino where the rooms we nicer and less expensive.
I have close friends that Love Love this resort. They can't believe I hated it and I can't believe they loved it. I can't understand why anyone would stay here once much less come back again.
The Alexis Park is the biggest dive I've ever stayed in. Not the worst dive but the biggest. I would never stay here again and with so many great choices at this same price point why would I?
