Group of 4 of us spent Labor Day tubing Salt River and had a great time. They were prepared for the holiday crowd and we quickly got our tubes, boarded the bus and after a speedy but bumpy bus ride were dropped off at the launch site and in the water. For the most part it was a lazy and relaxing float with one area very very slow and a few spots that were faster and fun. There were groups of all ages but most were 20 somethings having fun but not partying to the point where it would have been inappropriate to bring your younger children for the float but I would recommend go earlier in the day if you are bringing kids as the party would probably escalate later in the day. Water temps were comfortable. Tubes were a little uncomfortable but were sturdy. We saw a few who brought there own tubes and I would be careful bringing something cheap as they can pop on rocks or sticks along the banks. The black rental tubes did get really hot and even though I drizzled them with water frequently I got a burn on the back of my arm from the hot tube not the sun so do as others have suggested and throw an old sheet or towel over the tube to prevent a burn. We saw lots of creativity with floats and coolers and will come prepared next time for a longer float. Enjoyed seeing the landscape and wild horses along the trip. All in all it was a fun way to relax on a hot day and we would do it again!
