| - I had been coming here consistently for about 6 months to get gel manicures for my grown out natural nails. Generally the techs are somewhat surprised to see someone with natural nails instead of acrylics but until my most recent experience they have taken care of me and given me exactly what I wanted with no issues.
Last week I came in and asked for my usual gel manicure. I was paired with an older man who was gruff, rude, and rushed me throughout my entire manicure. He slipped with the dremel tool used to take off the gel coating on my nails 3 times, which ended up shaving off the parts of skin around my fingers. When I asked him to cut my nails slightly shorter but keep them the same shape (almond) he refused to shape them correctly for me, citing that an almond shape would break my natural nails. Annoyed, I assured him that I had been getting my nails done this way for the better part of a year with no issues, and asked him to please shape my nails the way that I requested. He refused to do it! He then somehow made a mistake cutting one of my nails, leaving a chunk missing from of the sides. When I asked him to file it down so that the nail was even, he refused again, citing possible breakage. During painting, he "cleaned up" my nail beds with acetone without properly cleaning the brush in between, spreading blotchy paint all over the area below my nails and burning the areas that he had cut open before.
I left with red, blotchy, painful, and uneven nails that looked nothing like what I asked for. The day after, one of my fingers was in pretty serious pain, and I realized that part of the skin he had cut had somehow bonded with the gel! I still have a scab healing from this place and I won't be going back.
