  • There's just something inherently charming and nostalgic about Du-Par's Restaurant and Bakery that's reason why it has withstood the test of time. Nothing fancy - just all-time comfort food classics and items they remain famous for including shortcakes, shrimp cocktail, and various dessert pies. I sat at the counter for just a snack of their shrimp cocktail and a beer. The shrimp cocktail is a $3.99 Vegas steal and they come flying out the kitchen. Generous serving of shrimp and horseradishy cocktail sauce. The service is unassumingly attentive. I think the history is what makes it special. There was a party seated behind me where they were celebrating what must have been a wedding anniversary for grandparents in their 90s. Three generations digging into shrimp cocktail appetizers just like the couple had done so decades before. Just incredibly charming.
