  • I had the most relieving experience here. I had recently went to Banfield Clinic how PetSmart for my 7 month old German Shepherd puppy. He had been severely limping and crying for three days straight. I took him in, and Banfield was requesting that we did multiple different things to figure out what the possibility of his condition is. They were requesting things totally unrelated to what his injuries were, and the price just to figure out what was wrong was $1,600. They were actually recommending that we see a specialist because she had never seen a case like this before. We didn't have the money at the time, so we just paid for some pain medication ( Tramadol) to help him with the pain for the time being until we can figure something else out. Well another day went by, his medication didn't seem to be working at all, and he actually seemed to be getting worse. My fiance contacted Goodyear Animal Hospital and asked them the earliest that they could get us in, and that it was pretty urgent. They were able to take us in the same day only a few hours later. Once we arrived, it was less than three minutes until we were in a room, and then about another two until the doctor showed up. The doctor came in, and I kid you not within 30 seconds was confident in what his condition was. "Panosteitis" it affects the long bones in young puppies limbs, between the age of 5 to 18 months. It is common in large breed dogs, and can last from 2 to 5 weeks. She was almost certain with Her diagnosis, but just to be sure they placed him under x-ray just to verify that he didn't have any broken bones or hairline fractures. She returned and stated that his cartilage, and his bones were in good condition. They were just "growing". After giving us the sense of relief that it would pass. She prescribed two different medications that would actually help with the inflammation and the pain. Including the x-rays and the medication we only paid a little over $350. Which is still a lot of money, but in comparison to $1,600 at Banfield, it sounded pretty nice. Since our visit our puppy is doing much better. It has only been a couple of days and he is already making an improvement. Crying much less, and able to walk around for longer periods of time. We appreciated how helpful the staff where are Goodyear Animal Hospital, and we will definitely be returning if any reoccurring issues come up with our dogs.
