| - I'm not sure why there are any bad reviews but our experience was the best I've had at any vet or clinic.
We brought in our 10 month old Chihuahua to get spayed, have two dewclaws removed, and receive her kennel cough vaccine. We made the appointment a month in advance and received confirmation from PAWS and a follow up call a day before the surgery as well as instructions on what to expect after surgery and precautions to take before.
When we arrived at PAWS the morning of her surgery the receptionist at the counter greeted us right when we walked in the door with a smile and welcomed us to PAWS. The waiting room is very clean and it doesn't have that pet odor/bleach smell you will find at other clinics which was very pleasant. We handed her a informational form we downloaded online from their website that we filled out prior to our appointment. The form asks about you pet, allergies, current vaccinations, what you're at PAWS for, etc." After we exchanged information with the receptionist we sat down in the waiting room.
We waited no more than 10 minutes before Dr. Diskin saw Roxie. We went into the room where he weighed her, and asked about her; going down the list of questions we answered on the informational form. Keep in mind while he was reviewing the form and speaking with us he would play with Roxie and pet her which made all of us including Roxie more comfortable as she is somewhat skiddish around new people. It was refreshing to see a business and it's staff take pride in what they do and how they respect their customers especially the animals they treat.
We pointed out that she had a baby tooth that did not fall out even though her adult teeth had come in and mentioned we would like that removed as well, whether today or another appointment down the road. He said it wouldn't be a problem and they could remove it today along with doing the other procedures. We said goodbye to Roxie and Dr. Diskin who took her to the back where they got her ready for surgery.
We dropped Roxie off at 8:30am and I received a call around 10:30am from PAWS letting us know that surgery went as planned, that Roxie is doing great and she will be available for pick-up at 12:30pm.
When we picked her up they gave us post-op instructions as well as pain medication for her if she becomes uncomfortable, they told us what to expect and said she did wonderful. It is now day three after the surgery and Roxie is back to her normal self. The first day she slept and didn't move much because the the anesthesia but now she will walk around, wag her tail, eat, drink, etc. We have a cone to prevent her from licking the incision.
All in all it cost a fraction of what we were quoted at some other clinics. The service was outstanding and to top it all off Dr. Diskin followed up with us to see how Roxie was doing.
We will definitely be coming here in the future for all of Roxie's needs. I would recommend this place to anyone if they need their dog neutered/spayed, vaccinations, nail trimming, etc. The staff cares, they enjoy what they do, the place is clean, prices are very reasonable and wait times are minimal.
