I first discovered NC Velo when looking for a new group ride. Since august I don't think I've missed more than 5 of the organized shop rides from NC Velo. The guys that run the shop from the front counter back to the service bays are just excellent. I've since bought countless pieces of clothing, a set of wheels, nutrition, lights, and had several services done from the guys there. There are two things that stand out though in my memory of all dealings with NC Velo, both involve lights. The first instance was when I had issues with a tail light I bought. I came in and described the issue and Kyle took my tail light and handed me the one off his bike. He didn't ask how long ago I bought the light. He didn't ask for my receipt. He didn't ask what conditions I used the light in. He simply understood that I was having issues with a product and went out of his way to help me. The second time was on a Wednesday night shop ride when I showed up unprepared (despite owning all the necessities) for a ride at night since the time changed. Once again Kyle gave me a flashing light from a few they had behind the counter and Jay gave me a spare headlight off of his personal bike. The guys are great. They care about customers. They're interested in creating a community and a stronger cycling family in Charlotte. I can't tell you how many times I've seen guys in full kit sitting on the couch in she shop taking a breather mid ride. Stop by NC Velo if you're looking for anything bike related: sales, service, advice, or just a chat about the Redhook Crit standings. You won't be disappointed.
