  • Soma is the cutest little shop, located in the lovely and quaint distillery district. Sometimes I like to imagine that I'm in Hogsmeade and Soma is the real-life version of Honeydukes Sweetshop, because seriously - this place is magical. As soon as you step through the door you're met with the sweet scent of CHOCOLATE...olfactory bliss. Then your eyes widen as they take in the rows of chocolate goodies and gelato and the workers doing their thing behind the glass windows. Then your tastebuds rejoice once you finally - after much deliberation - decide what to enjoy that day. Having popped in at Soma several times before for chocolate, I decided to mix it up recently and stopped in for an affogato ($4.20). It was my first time trying the gelato at Soma, and the Madagascar Vanilla gelato in the affogato was soooo good. Too bad the espresso was a little sour! Guess you can't be perfect at everything. It was still a really lovely treat on a hot summer day. After experiencing a taste of the gelato, I will most certainly come back here to try more of their frozen offerings. The Coconut Sorbetta is calling my name.
