The Bay is no ordinary department store, it is an important part of Canada's history. It was founded way back in 1670 and still exists today though it has undergone many changes over the years. In its early days it was linked to the fur trade and exploration of the country however it has since morphed into a department store which everyone knows.
This particular store is the largest one in Montreal and I guess you could consider it the city's flagship location. The brands that each location carries can vary but this particular one carries the higher-end names (BCBG, Armani Jeans, etc) so it can be expensive but sometimes you get lucky and find something on sale. Either way the selection is huge and I often find myself having to exercise great restraint not to buy everything I like. They also have an excellent kitchen section which like the clothing one has a lot of higher end brands such as Le Creuset.
Whenever I am in need of something new The Bay is always my first stop. The store has it all and I have to exercise self-restraint when I come here to shop because I can easily give my credit card a workout if I'm not careful. They have an awesome selection of goods and you can easily find everything you need in one trip to the store.
