  • We sought out this firm based on a recommendation from an associate. They came highly recommended as aggressive attorneys who fight for their clients. After the initial consultation, (which is not free unless you retain them) they were confident it was an easily managed case that could be settled out of family court. We decided to go ahead and retain them. Stephen Smith is who we originally met with and he had Jennifer Raczkowski sit in on the consultation, Stephen was so confident he felt there was no need to retain his services as they were twice what Jennifer's where. So it was Jennifer we retained. Needless to say there was alot of back and forth between our attorney and the other person's attorney. In less than two weeks of us retaining Jennifer she contacted us stating that we may want her to step down as her fees were already almost twice the retainer! Now if we felt she had really fought for us that would be one thing, but she basically caved and gave the other party almost everything they wanted. All we got was some visitation and avoided court only temporarily as we have to go back and repeat this all in 90 days. When we complained about the bill Jennifer said she would review it further and get back to us. She did knock off some from the amount that was over the retainer. We complained we were unhappy with her services and felt she did not do her best to represent us she said she would have Stephen review the case. Stephen then got back to us saying that he stood by Jennifer's work, even after we stated was was asked by the other party, what we asked for and what we felt we had to settle on. He then removed all charges over the retainer. That was a good thing but that was about all that we feel this firm did right by us. We will not retain them again. Just keep in mind that for us they did not fight aggressively like they said they would.
