| - Let me start off by saying that if I could, I would give them zero stars. Avoid this place or at least get a second opinion!! The only thing that they got going on at this place is that they are "friendly". Honestly, the staff is all really nice and i have nothing against them. However, do NOT let the dentists fool you!! Please!! Listen!!
Here is my story:
I went in for a regular 6 month check up with Dr. Shehata (FYI: her license plate on her BMW says MSEGYPT for crying out loud!! This should've been my sign to NOT trust her). She said that I needed an in-lay for a cavity because it is better & would last for 10 years. What can I say? She is a good salesperson and no wonder she drives a BMW. I foolishly believed her & got it. During the process, her assistant came in to tell her that the machine is broken. Great, this meant that I had to go home and come back a few hours later after she had already numbed my face! As I regained my feelings back, I notice that my bite was off from the filling that she did earlier. Guess what? She failed to check my bite! From talking to different dentists, this is basic dentist knowledge. You learn this from the beginning of dental school. It's ok, I got over it because I had to get my in-lay done anyway later on. I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
I go back a few hours later and everything got sorted out..eventually.. She actually overlooked and did not take all the cotton balls out of my mouth!! I had to grab it out myself and she made a joke out of it!! Quite unprofessional if you ask me. As I was finally driving home from my long day, I noticed that I had blue ink all over my white shirt. Turns out it was from the paint that they used to capture my tooth to put the in-lay!! How awful!!! They didn't even say anything thinking that I wouldn't notice!
So remember how my in-lay is suppose to last me 10 years? Well less than ONE month later, my in-lay broke and it broke a chunk of my tooth off with it!!! I had to go back, thinking that she will just replace it. No big deal right? Wrong! Now she drilled more of my healthy tooth to make it an on-lay!!! Now a few months later, it's broken again!! Since it broke more of my tooth, I am going to have to get a crown now. I have never heard of someone getting a crown due to a minor cavity!!
I am not sure what I can do in terms of reporting this incompetent dentist to the BBB, Nevada Dental Board, and American Dental Association, but I just want to make sure that you all know how horrible she is. Not only is she incompetent, she also lacks professionalism. She told me that I look like "the type that watches Twilight". Just because I am young does not mean I am a Twilight fan!! Furthermore, she even asked about my school loans and personal issues!! It's none of her business!
What is really funny about this whole situation is that when I left, they asked me to go on yelp to leave them some feedback. Here it is! I signed up for yelp just to make sure that I can do this! I still plan to seek out every option to report the incompetencies & unprofessional behavior of Dr. Shehata. She is untrained and unfit to be anyone's dentist. Please learn from my mistakes and go see a different dentist!!!
