  • I recently took the NC Concealed Carry Handgun Class at Blackstone Shooting Sports. The instructor for the class was Charles Peeples who does a fantastic job of teaching you all of the required course content so that you are fully prepared to pass both the shooting range test portion and written test portion of the course. Charles teaches in a very interactive manner which not only keeps you engaged and thus interested throughout the day, but also encourages question and answer dialogue. Further, Charles does an excellent job of correlating the various laws to real life scenarios which helps you to better visualize the intent and applicability of the law. On a side note, I would encourage ANYONE who owns a handgun (even if they have no intention of obtaining a Concealed Carry permit), to take this course if they are not intimately familiar with the NC state laws as they pertain to the use of deadly force for which the use of a hand gun will apply. Hopefully, you will never be faced with the situation of having to use such force, but having knowledge of the laws may very well prevent you from getting yourself into a very serious legal situation.
