| - There is no doubt that this hotel is very reasonably priced especially for its location in central Montreal, but everything else is not okay.
Firstly, it's located on the second floor of a run-down strip plaza above a sex shop and convenience store. Secondly, you'll also have to drop extra money for public parking around the area, so that's another $15-25 depending on where you go.
As you walk up the stairs - that creak, mind you - you're welcomed by eerie paintings. You reach the top to see reception - they don't greet you, they'll probably just stare until you physically walk up to them. Perfect.
Now, I was on a family trip so there were 4 of us. We were in a room on the second floor. My second huge problem, there's a sink available but washrooms are shared. What in the bloody hell? Do they think I'm paying for a room in college? I think at the price they're wanting, 1 toilet to 4 people is pretty reasonable.
The wifi is decent and free, but the rooms... the best comparison I can give is that this hotel more closely resembles a college res room than a hotel. Honestly, I stayed one night but it was the longest night of my life. The room is shabby, old and run down. The overall ambience is just not bright.
Maybe if you're travelling alone, back-packing or with just a group of buddies on a budget, something to consider... When you're travelling with a family, just don't. ESPECIALLY IF YOUR KIDS ARE UNDER 10.
