  • Maybe it was because we didn't stay too late, but I found Essen Haus to be a lot classier than I expected. I should mention my expectations were low - generally selling beer in 2L containers does not bode well for a bar in my book. However I was pleasantly surprised to find that the beer was of good quality and the people generally friendly. There was some live music that seemed to run to the polka style and a couple who knew what they were doing on the dance floor. Add the complimentary delicious popcorn to the equation and I'm in!
