  • Completely shut us down in adopting a second dog into our home because of my illness and not being able to guarantee that I could walk a dog on a daily basis due to that illness. I have a German Shepherd (now 2 GSDs), who do just fine without being walked daily because we play ball in the backyard, do command training, puzzle toys, etc. They get plenty of mental stimulation and exercise without me physically having to walk them daily. Unfortunately this rescue missed out on one of their dogs having a terrific home, but we adore our second GSD, so their loss was our gain.
