You have to read this. Management entered our room while we were at dinner.
We came back from dinner to find items moved around in the room, so we called the front desk to see if they could see who entered the room, etc. She did not have the ability to see that but would check with her manager. A few mins later she called back to state the manager had come by our room to greet us and see how things were going, then noticed that a few items were out of place in the room, so he moved the clock from night stand to the identical night stand on the other side of the bed. Then she curiously asked if something was missing- odd follow up question when you just told me it was the manager in the room- what does she know that I don't? Also, at that point who am i going to report it to? Certainly not management. My only recourse would be the police, which im not going into that right now.
SO let's play this out. Manager waits 3 hours after we check-in (we checked in early) to greet us, then when he gets no answer he decides to go ahead and let himself in, and decides that the clock absolutely must be moved to the other side of the bed for the ideal guest experience. All of this coincidentally in the 5-7pm range when many guests are likely to be out of their rooms.
Hotel privacy laws for the guest are vague so my recourse is likely limited outside of making sure others know what they are in for.
