  • I was really hoping that Julian Serrano would be better, but unfortunately the food and the lack of service was really a disappointment. Came here for Christmas dinner with the family and ordered a variety of things. I was expecting this place to have more of their servers be more professional and polished since this restaurant seemed highly rated. From the food being served lukewarm, the server not really having recommendations, the dishes not being timed out properly (it's a tapas place, they should know better)...and the list goes on. seafood paella- crispy rice mixed with tiny pieces of seafood and fatty dark meat chicken pieces. Shrimp had no flavor to it, because it was probably just boiled. The lobster also seemed a little overcooked and the mussels were definitely over done. I wanted to try the paella for myself since I've been reading mixed reviews, but unfortunately I should have listened to the majority and not gone with the paella. stuffed piquillo peppers- these were good. Nice plump piquillo peppers stuffed with a goat cheese mixture and served lukewarm in some tomato sauce. Grilled Japanese eggplant- a well toasted egg plant with a nice savory taste to it. Mediterranean chicken skewer- these fatty pieces of chicken were not my favorite. I loved the apricot mixed in this dish, but the quality of this fatty chicken was terrible. Stuffed dates- nothing special about the stuffed dates. Plain and simple stuffed dates shrimp empanadas- fried ball of shrimp pieces gambas- I don't understand why they don't try grilling their shrimps to get more flavor. The shrimp is lacking flavor. Grilled rib eye- it was a chewy piece of meat. The sauce was a little salty for my palate. almond cake- nothing special again. Overall, the dining experience here was a little lacking and food quality was also a huge disappointment. Just a normal restaurant with no spectacular dishes...even the sangria was normal.
