| - This is a tricky review to write because, honestly, I can't really give these people a bad review even if I wanted to. They saved our little puppy's life - which is all that we asked for. And for that, my girlfriend and I will be forever thankful.
You see, our new chihuahua puppy ended up having his glucose drop to dangerously low levels. He kept throwing up and food was not being replenished quickly enough, which resulted in him nearly going into a coma. After a quick stop at a regular vet in order to get his levels stabilized, he was then rushed here in order to receive more intensive treatment.
The place is under new ownership since we last visited. It remains 24 hours. And yes, as other people have stated, it is very expensive. But as a result, your pet will receive around-the-clock care. They have access to all the equipment necessary and you're able to call as often as you want, at any time you want, in order to receive an update on their status.
The only reason why I can't give them five stars is because there's just something kind of unsettling about bringing your dying pet and having to "pay up" before they'll do anything. They won't send you a bill - as the treatment has to be paid in full beforehand - although they do work with a credit company for those who need it. I don't even want to imagine how many people have brought in their pets, only to be told the price, and being unable to afford the cost. I mean, what happens then? I'd rather not think about it.
Additionally, I can remember when they were under previous ownership, the IV-care we received for a previous dog (with a similar glucose issue no less) was significantly less expensive.
Overall, there aren't many options available for emergency animal care. And it's the type of place that I hope no one ever has to actually use. However, if the situation calls for it, I feel that your pet will be in very good hands at this location.
