  • Figured it was time to update Zushi. Last review here was 8 months ago but we've come here to eat and for carry out at least a dozen times since. My opinion of this place hasn't changed. It's still the best all around sushi/Asian food place I've been to here in AZ since I moved here a little over 3 years ago. The menu is diverse so if you don't like sushi they have all your various Chinese dishes as well as some American favorites. Although I have to say they have some sushi rolls that would even appease the most skeptical sushi virgin. I'm a sushi novice and some of the rolls I really like (Murphy roll, Las Vegas roll, and Spider roll) are probably not even considered sushi by experts; but boy are they good. Dont forget to try the egg rolls and pot stickers also. If you want something lighter go with the bento box. It's a smaller portion of an entree with a salad and egg roll. I'm a ranch dressing fanatic but their ginger Asian dressing is really good and will surprise you. Anyways, Jen and I ordered the lettuce wraps here for the first time today. They were really good but we couldn't decide if we liked these better than PF Chang's or not. I think it's a tie but they are distinctively different. Jen ordered the Hurricane roll which is crab, cucumber, salmon, tuna, with avocado on top finished off with some crunchy tempura crunch on top of the roll. I am in a slump and order the Spicy Chicken Bolgogi for about the fourth time in a row. lunch or dinner, get the dinner portion because you will want to take some home for later. They also have it in beef. Very tender chicken pieces amidst slices of carrots, zuchinni, onion, celery, various peppers, mushrooms, and this amazing red sauce which they will make as spicy as you want. Very capable of clearing your sinuses. It's amazing. Of course we ordered their largest bowl of Hot and Sour soup to go which is the best I've ever had, ever, and is made from scratch. If you're in the area or just having a hard time finding that one of kind really good Asian restaurant, you have to try Zushi. DO NOT SKIP THE HOT AND SOUR SOUP. And yes, it was about 109 degrees out but the food is worth it. It's well AC'D anyway.
