  • I called ahead to order the new item: Pie Tacos. I placed an order for two dozen. The flavors were Apple, Cherry, French Silk, and Key Lime. I got there 30 minutes earlier than I said and the order was not yet put together. I was fine with that. It did take a while to get the order together and it was very messy. I think carrying out a smaller number would stay nicer. The fruit pies kept their shape the best in transit. The cream pies with the whipped topping fared far worse. The tastes of each pie were good...as reported to me by everyone who dug into the box of treats. I personally sampled the Key Lime and French Silk. The Key Lime had a soggy "taco shell" so it was hard to pick up. The flavor was spot on but I wished for a spoon. The French Silk's shell kept it's integrity but the whipped topping was easy to lose. It has a good chocolate taste. The box with the cream pies was a whipped cream mess. I ordered these on the first day they were available. So with that in mind, the packaging is forgiven as it was an experiment. I am sure this will get improved in the future. And the pies all tasted very good and are fun. I would order the pie tacos again but would be more inclined to eat them in the restaurant or carry out only one or two for the road.
