Well, I have been a AAA member for a while and they've always been great to deal with. I figured their repair practices would mirror their insurance services. Sadly, I was wrong. I overheated on the 101 and had the AAA driver bring me to AAA repair, which assured me I would get a discount. Well, I wish I could have felt that discount. The service advisor called me and said I needed three hoses and coolant. The price he quoted was $911.000. I'm not sure that it's the advisors fault, as Tim seemed like a nice guy. I guess that is just their pricing, not sure. So, I called some other places and asked some friends who all said it was an easy job. I received a quote for $230.00 for the whole thing. I had them tow the vehicle to Sun Devil Auto to do the work (Sun Devil towed it for free). Sun Devil did the work for $230.00 and were perplexed about the $900.00 price tag. Sun Devil called me and told me I had a bad mount and a CV leak on my right front (both which I knew about). Ultimately, I'm getting all of this done and a free oil change for less than the cost of repair for my chief issue at AAA. I guess my complaint is price. Not sure why there is such disparity.
