  • **You ARE GOING TO GET A THICK HEAVY SALE PITCH BY ONE OF THE TRAINERS there who was EXTREMELY rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate, impatient, unprofessional, cuts you off mid-sentence, judges you, who can't take No for an answer, blows the whole conversation up with his whole disbelief that you won't take HIS offer of a lower price when I NEVER ASKED HIM FOR A DISCOUNT IN THE FIRST PLACE. As soon as I said "Well thank you for showing me your prices, it's good to know what you offer, and I will definitely think about it." He pushes the piece of paper toward me, throws up his hands and raising his voice at me "Well, what the hell was all this for?" I told him immediately that I did not ask him for HIS prices, nor did I ask him for a discount at the club. He just happened to walk by as I was already talking Guy #1, and it was only a simple Hello and a hand shake. I told Guy #1 that I eventually wanted a trainer, but since I printed out a 5 day free pass TO CHECK OUT THE FACILITY TO SEE IF I LIKE IT, "IF" I signed up, I could go from there in furthering my strength training. And what is totally disappointing is, when The Trainer was talking to me, he takes one look at me and ASSUMES I'm there to desperately lose weight. Wrong!! I AM a big girl, but it was NOT why I was there. I do construction and I was wanting a membership to KEEP UP MY STRENGTH SO I CAN CONTINUE DOING THE WORK THAT I DO EVEN AT MY SIZE. I told him I don't sit around all day and that I'm quite active at my job. He gives me that attitude that what I do at my job isn't the same as getting fit in the gym. I told him "At my size, YES, it's enough." I'm not trying to burn myself out working at my job AND at the gym. He began to raise his voice at me. He went on about how I'm going to plateau because HE feels I'm not doing enough even though I already told him I went from 320 to 245. And I told him AGAIN, "When I do plateau, I will go to you for your services." He. Got. Pissed. He stood up shaking his head at me because I said No to his bullshit offers. Isn't it all about what the customer wants and what they're ready for? It had absolutely NOTHING to do with money; since that's what HE LEAD HIMSELF ONTO BELIEVE. His rate was indeed low and I may have took it IF HE ALLOWED ME TO USE MY FREE 5 DAY PASS TO IT'S FULL USE AND ADVANTAGE, INSTEAD OF SHOVING THAT PIECE OF PAPER IN MY FACE, THROWING UP HIS HANDS AND RAISING HIS VOICE AT ME LIKE I'M THE ONE THAT'S CRAZY FOR NOT TAKING HIS OFFER. I. HAVEN'T. CHECKED. OUT. THE. FACILITY. YET!! I'm writing in capital letters to highlight how this guy was trying to bully me, nearly picking on me, making false assumptions about me and my body. I don't care about his years of experience of working at 57 locations, being a nutritionist, ect. This guy deserves to get his fitness licenses and certifications taken away. You don't talk to people like that, especially when you're in this kind of business. No means No and leave it ALONE. All he had to say was "It was very nice to meet you. I hope you'll join our facility, and if you have any questions or concerns about any of the machinery here, please feel free to ask me or one of the trainers out on the floor, and have a good workout!!" Instead this guy got frustrated with me, won't look me in the face, stood up, backing away mad at the whole situation, and went to go sit in his corner to blow out hot air. Guy #1 was sitting there the whole time WATCHING us go back and forth. To be honest, I felt like he should've told his friend to chill out. I would have if that were me because, YOU SHOULDN'T TALK TO CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT. Simple!! I looked at Guy #1 and asked him if he was going to show me around or not. When I stood up, I heard The Trainer apologize TO MY BACK as I'm walking off. He should have pulled me aside and apologize to my face. What a coward. Guy #1 seemed hesitant to show me around. He was very awkward; pointing around the club without really taking me there and showing me. I continuously asked him if he could take me to where he was pointing. We were on one side of the gym, and I asked him "Where's the ladies locker room." He points to it, which was on the other side. "Can we take a walk over there?" It was so annoying. I asked him about the weights, the classes, the juice bar, ect. He totally was somewhere else in the head after he witnessed that argument. I wasn't giving HIM an attitude, for I smiled while talking to him and asking him questions. I didn't really have a problem with him, it was The Trainer. I'm sure he's taking sides here, but I don't care. I'm NOT returning to that gym ever again. I was really excited about this one because, I used to go to Lifetime Fitness in Gilbert, which I adored. But LA Fitness is way close to me. And with my job, LA Fitness is all over the valley, which is why I wanted to join. If I didn't want to deal with traffic in the morning AND in the evening, I could go to the gym and have a chill workout. Psh! Nevermind now.
